Benjamin Rose is a multi-instrumentalist based in Madison, WI. They perform as a solo artist and as part of indie rock group Kat and the Hurricane, but are also available for booking services, session work, show hosting, promoting, and other freelance work. Benjamin Rose

Self-described as a “hopeful skeptic,” Benjamin Rose uses music to tell stories and connect with people’s deepest emotions. They have a wide repertoire of original music and cover songs, their influences ranging from bedroom pop, folk rock, R&B, top 40, and more. Benjamin Rose has been writing music since they were 13 and have been performing live off and on since 2014. Since early 2018, they have been a core member of the Madison synth-rock outfit Kat and the Hurricane, winner of 3 Madison Area Music Association awards.

Kat and the Hurricane

Kat and the Hurricane is a genre- and gender-bending indie-pop/synth-rock trio from Madison, Wisconsin. Lead singer/guitarist Kat Farnsworth (they/them), keyboardist/vocalist Benjamin Rose (they/them), and drummer Alex Nelson (they/them) deliver a unique blend of pop and haunting indie rock they affectionately refer to as "sad lesbian music."

Kat and the Hurricane’s award-winning 2021 release “The Sorry EP” finds the trio in their element, mixing uncompromising pop, evocative lyrics, and powerhouse vocals to make music reminiscent of any tropical storm - surging, fierce, and guaranteed to knock you off your feet. Their inspirations range from bands such as Paramore, pronoun, and Tegan and Sara. Emotionally-charged but dancey, their music is sure to strike a chord with any audience.
